(in English) We aimed to realize the detector of a gas chromatograph (GC) that can nondestructively analyze volatile organic compounds of ppb order at room temperature by ball surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor with organic sensitive film fabricated by off-axis spin coating method. The ball SAW sensor with surface-active agent film detected a nerve gas simulant substance (dimethylmethylphosphonate) of low concentration with sufficient S/N ratio at room temperature, in spite of a thermal conductivity detector of a desktop GC hardly detectable. Then, the detection limit at S/N=2 was 10 ppb. Therefore, it was proved that the ball SAW sensor is useful for the detector not only the desktop GC but also a potable GC.
