Comparison between Trials in Two Years in Effect of Promoting Graduate Study by the International Joint Seminar between Japan and China Using the Video Conferencing

(in English) In 2007, “A” university in Japan and “B” university in China had a joint seminar in their respective native languages, using a simple video conference system and incorporating evaluation activity. Subsequently, they carried out the joint seminar between universities in Japan and China also using the videoconference by newly adopting presentation in 2008. It is reconfirmed that even if students communicate in their respective native languages using the simple video conference system, graduate study can be promoted and ability and consciousness of students could be raised. From the comparison between those in 2007 and 2008, students in Japan in 2008 improved more ability to evaluate others than ones in 2007. Students in China in 2008 improved more ability related to asking and answering to a question than ones in 2007. Moreover, the presentation activities taken in this time was recognized to be useful for raising the will to execute the research. It is also available for improving the interest in the research. This paper is to report the good practices and its effects.
