[Invited Talk] Data Masking and Traceability for Inter-Cloud Data Security

(in English) The use of cloud computing in business is expanding at a rapid clip in recent years. However, security of the data stored in cloud is still is a big concern for the cloud end-users. As a solution to solve this concern, we developed a new cloud gateway technology consisting of data masking that protects sensitive information in the data that is transmitted among clouds, and an information traceability technology that monitors flaws of the data stored in cloud. Our data masking technology makes it possible not only to mask and unmask personal information, but also allows end-users to perform aggregate calculation of randomized data in accordance with the various user’s right. By the information traceability, pathway of transmitted data among clouds can be visualized, and unauthorized move of data can be blocked based on the contents of the data. In this paper, we will introduce an overview of data masking and information traceability with an application using personal information.
