| 抄録 | （和） | あらまし 多くの場合において機械とのやり取りは、言語で行われる。自動案内システムのようなQAシステムの構築において、ユーザーの要求に文字通りにそのまま答えるようなシステムは不便であり役に立たない場合がある。より自然でシームレスなコミュニケーションを行う為には、心の理論を用いて会話相手の思考モデルを意識することが重要である。心の理論の実験方法をベースにした２つのアンケートを報告する。 |
| （英） | Since its proposal 60 years ago, the Turing Test has generated intense debate in theoretical AI. However, it has not had as much impact on actual applications. Recently, researchers have used pragmatics to analyze man-machine exchanges (e.g., transcripts from the Loebner prize, a Turing-style competition) and machine-machine exchanges. We argue based on those results that there is a need to implement some measure of theory of mind (i.e., the machine should have some representation of the user’s representation of the world) to improve machines’ responses. We report questionnaire data on the hypothetical interactions between users and three QA systems. The QA systems did not differ in how human-like their responses were judged to be; nevertheless, their responses were considered more helpful when they attempted to guess the users’ goals rather than just providing literal answers to the queries. The results are unsurprising, but they underscore the need to go beyond literal answers, which have often been the sole goal of this type of system development. Research should aim at systems that can maintain representations of the user’s mental model of the world so that their needs can be better serviced. | |
