| (in English) | The waveform of the Pupil Light Response (PLR) to chromatic stimuli is recognized as an activity of the melanopsin-associated photoreceptive system. This report determines the difference in quantitative description of the PLR waveforms between healthy subjects and patients with Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). The features of waveform shapes were extracted using Fourier descriptors, and the degrees of unsimilarity were defined as the Eucrid distance between two waveform shapes across four stimuli and both eyes. To create scales to compare stimuli and subjects, Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) was applied to the distance metrices. As a result, some difference appeared on a scale between healthy and patient subjects. This provides a possibility to detect a sympton using PLR for the stimuli. | |
