A Study on Multiple Target detection and discrimination for Automotive UWB Radar

(in English) Automotive UWB radar is expected highly precision target detection and discrimination because of high range resolution. However radar echo contains unwanted echoes called as clutter, which makes it difficult to detect a target or obstacles. Thus detection performance can be improved by pulse integration, then the target is detected by threshold, but it is difficult to detect and classify the target because it is hard to integrate only a target signal in a multiple target environment. Therefore the multiple targets can be detected and classified with signal processing lower than conventional method, if position and the velocity of a target signal and a clutter can be detected before a detection performance improvement processing such as pulse integration. In this report, we propose a novel target detection and discrimination method in a multiple target and low SCR environment, and the usefulness is confirmed by conducting the measurement.
