VLAN Spanning Tree Construction Scheme in Wireless Mesh Networks using Virtual Trunk Nodes

(in English) The authors focus wireless mesh networks as infrastructure technology of new local community network which deliverinformation that satisfies needs of the community. In wires mesh networks, routing control using multiple spanning trees in the network (ST)will be effectivein order to reconstruct routes when inter-node wireless linksare broken. Here, VLAN group is configuredto each of spanning trees and MAC address learning is combined with them. However, many products of Layer 2 switch have only limited number of VLAN ID that can be used at the same time. So, in this approach, the number of ST that are used in VLAN setting needs to be controlled so that it is as few as possible. In order to avoid inefficient routes that are possibly constructed by limited number of ST, it is important to construct the ST efficiently by considering the entire network topology. This paper applies the concept of a virtual trunk node in the wired networks to wireless mesh network, which have been originally proposed to suggest how to build the ST with this objective in the multicast networks.
