[Invited Talk] Optimal Solution Path Following Algorithm for Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning

(in English) Many pattern classification and machine learning algorithms are formulated as mathematical optimization problems. These optimization problems are often parametrized by one or more problem parameters such as regularization parameter. In practical application, we often need to train several models by solving several optimization problems with different problem parameters. The methods for studying the relation between problem parameters and optimal solutions are called optimal solution path-following methods. In this talk, we present recent advances in optimal solution path-following methods in the context of pattern recognition and machine learning including some contributions by the authors and their colleagues.
