Formulation of oscillator Q for the FET oscillators with a coaxial resonator

(in English) Leeson's formula is well-known one for phase noise behaviour in oscillators. However relationship between Q factor Qosc in Leeson's formula and resonator's Q has not been analyzed in past works. Recently Ohira clarified the method to formulate oscillator's Q factor Qosc from circuit parameters. In our previous report, formulation of Qosc is demonstrated for the FET oscillator with a coaxial resonator under assumption of the lossless resonation. And it was clarified that Qosc is proportional to resonator’s Q. In this report, formulation of Qosc is presented for the FET oscillator with a coaxial resonator without above assumptions. The analytical results are agreed with the simulated ones. Furthermore relationship between Qosc and phase noise is considered with the variation of feedback capacitors, in analytical and experimental approach.
