Canonical Multiple Sequence Alignment for High-dimensional Multiple Time-series Analysis
Takamitsu Matsubara (NAIST/ATR), Jun Morimoto (ATR) IBISML2011-96
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Temporal alignment of time series is a fundamental problem as the first step for many purposes. Especially, the techniques for temporal alignment of multiple time series, i.e., multiple sequence alignment is crucial for finding common, hidden patterns among all the sequences, which cannot be achieved by the techniques for pair-wise alignment. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for multiple alignment called Canonical Multiple Sequence Alignment (CMSA). This algorithm can be viewed as an extension of multiple alignment, multi-set canonical correlation analysis and canonical time warping. The proposed method is validated through an application to artificial data.
