A data gathering mechanism using phase-locking and anti-phase synchronization for wireless sensor networks

(in English) In this report, we propose a mechanism for gathering sensor data periodically from all sensor nodes toward a base station in wireless sensor networks. In the proposed mechanism, sensor nodes configure their message transmission timing and sleep timing in a self-organizing manner. For the purpose that sensor data is propagated from the edge of the wireless sensor network toward the base station in order of hop counts from the base station, phase-locking in a pulse-coupled oscillator model is used. In addition, to avoid simultaneous message transmission among sensor nodes with the same hop number, the message transmission timing is distributed by using anti-phase synchronization in the pulse-coupled oscillator model. Through simulation experiments, we confirmed that the data gathering ratio can be improved by up to 11% with the proposed mechanism compared to a compared mechanism.
