Musical Noise Reduction of Spectral Subtraction for Speech Enhancement

(in English) In this report, an approach to reduce musical noise of spectral subtraction (SS) for speech enhancement is described. We propose a novel method reducing musical noise to suppress isolated gain arising on spectral gain as isolated frequency components. In the method, adaptive control of the amount of noise reduction based on a posteriori SNR and temporally-smoothed spectral gain curb the generation of isolated gain. The simulation with steady or non-steady additive noise shows that musical noise is almost-perfectly suppressed by the proposed method applying for SS method and Wiener filter.
