Manufacturing and Characterization of Graphene Intercalation Compounds

(in English) The purposes of this work are to prepare graphenes by CVD and to synthesize FeCl3- intercalated compounds of graphites (FeCl3–GIC) or a few-layered graphenes (FeCl3-FLGIC). From the results in the intensity ratio of G and 2D Raman peaks and/or a 2D peak shift to the lower wavenumber, it was confirmed that the CVD thin films prepared on Cu sheets were graphenes. Since XRD peaks of FeCl3–GIC and/or new Raman peaks at 1606cm-1 and 1626cm-1 were observed, it was thought that FeCl3- intercalated compounds were successfully synthesized. Also in the few-layered graphenes the newly observed 1626cm-1 peak insisted that the highly intercalation took place compared with the case of the graphite. Furthermore the obtained FeCl3–FLGIC was estimated to be in the highly intercalated state over a stage2 of GIC from the consideration for the wavenumber dependence of the Raman peak intensity ratio, Intercalation peak /G peak.
