Growing heat dissipation has become one of the main issues in today's IC chips limiting the reliability and performance. In this study, we analyze the thermal conduction in ultrathin Si lms using a Monte Carlo method developed for solving the phonon Boltzmann transport equation. By taking account of the realistic phonon dispersion relation and appropriate boundary scattering mechanism, good agreement with the experimental data has been obtained. |
