Study on the Formation of Surface Relief-Anisotropic Hologram by In-Situ Observation of Diffraction Polarization

(in English) Recently holographic recordings in azobenzene-containing media has been intensively studied in the researchfield of optical information processing and recording. Diffraction gratings by optical anisotropy due to photoisomerization and surface relief are formed in the polymer containing azobenzene by irradiating interference light of polarized beams. It is very important for development of highly functionalized recording medium to reveal the grating formation mechanism although the system under discussion is rather complex. The intensity and polarization state of diffracted light for the polarization hologram contain all the information of the induced grating structure. Therefore, in this study we observed since the polarization state of diffracted light by using a polarimeter.
