Determining the presence or absence of saccades in student observation system

(in English) By the spread of e-Learning in the higher education institutions and enterprises, a number of education has come to be carried out by the LMS or CMS and PC. If we can grasp concentration of participant and feed back in e-Learning, the participant can learn efficiently in limited time. Therefore, we detect concentration of participant by detection of high-speed jumping movements of eye called saccade and the generating frequency of saccade. But, the detection efficiency of saccade falls by the conditions of lighting and the performance of the camera with a built-in PC. So, we developed the method to detect the presence or absence of saccade also in the situation where detection efficiency is low, and measured the detection probability, the number of incorrect detection, and detection efficiency of Saccade. As a result, the detection probability was 71.1 ％, and the numbers of incorrect detection constitute 11 ％ of the total numbers of detection, and detection efficiency becomes a normal distribution to center on 80 to 90 ％. Then, we enabled to determine presence or absence of saccades by a statistical procedure.
