We propose a disaster area monitoring system using ultra small electric vehicle (mini EV) in cooperation with electric helicopters. We develop it using a quad-rotor helicopter and hex-rotor helicopter, and we selected AR.Drone 2.0 as a quad-rotor helicopter and DJI’s frame kit as a hex-rotor helicopter. We developed software to measure the flight data of AR.Drone and measured the flight performance of a hex-rotor helicopter. We found that AR.Drone doesn’t fly as it is described in the developer manual and a hex-rotor helicopter has good enough flight performance to develop a disaster area monitoring system. In this paper, we describe the flight data and the flight performance of a disaster area monitoring system using electric vehicles in cooperation with electric helicopters. |
