Automatic Vehicle Detection in the Omni-directional Image
Koutaro Katayama, Keiji Shibata, Yuukou Horita (Toyama Univ.) IMQ2012-30
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Automatic vehicle detection by using visible camera image can be achieving low cost implementation. Therefore, it is expected to a wide range of the ITS field. In recent years, the vehicle detection using omni-directional image which is capable of acquiring wider range rather than the conventional camera, has also been proposed. Usually, the vehicle detection using omni-directional image needs the panoramic expansion. However, the panoramic expansion requires pixel interpolation, and it causes the increasing of the processing time and the decreasing of the detection accracy. So, in this study, we propose a new method for vehicle detection without using the panoramic expansion, and show its effectiveness.
