Deghosting for Multiple Angle Sensors Based on Tracking Process by Double Hypotheses
Kosuke Maruyama, Hiroshi Kameda (Mitsubishi Electric Corp.) SANE2012-160
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A deghosting algorithm for multiple angle sensors observing objects based on tracking by double hypotheses is proposed. In observation by multiple angle sensors, it is necessary to estimate whether lines of angle originate from the identical object. However, when multiple sensors and multiple objects exist on the identical plane, intersections of lines originating from different objects appear and they are unable to be distinguished from objects by conventional method. The proposed algorithm utilizes that the dynamics of ghosts depends on the dynamics of objects, derives a dynamics model for ghosts from the dynamics model for objects which defines the dynamic hypothesis of objects, and then tracks the all intersections including ghosts using double hypotheses to which dynamics models for objects and ghosts are applied. Thereafter, this algorithm decides to which dynamics model fits the intersections based on residuals between prediction data and intersection. This algorithm enables us to deghost when angle sensors and objects continuously exist on the identical plane.
