Superconducting Micro-resonator arrays for High Sensitivity Terahertz-wave Cameras

(in English) We have been developing terahertz cameras using superconducting micro-resonator arrays operated at 4 K. A superconducting micro resonator, called Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID), is one of the most sensitive detectors for terahertz wave. MKID is made from a Niobium Nitride films whose superconducting transition temperature is 15.7 K with the thickness of 150 nm. The film is deposited on an MgO substrate by magnetron sputtering method. To increase the number of detectors per area, we estimate the amount of microwave crosstalk between pixels with Ansys Designer. We find that the pixel crosstalk occurs by both inductive and capacitive coupling.
