Development of the sensor fusion algorithm for measuring road geometry -- Application of Kalman Filter to smart phone sensors --

(in English) MEMS Sensors embedded in smart phones together with a GPS receiver are used to estimate 3-D road geometry based on Kalman filter theory. Experimental results show that even such low cost sensors can give acceptable results which is helpful to acquire 3-D probe data which represents road geometry as long as some closed loop conditions are maintained.
