Activating Communication among the People in Kesennuma Affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake

(in English) As a solution for social problems in reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake, We think it valuable to design a system that enables sharing the life philosophies of people in the disaster areas and promotes discussions of them. That will encourage reconstruction from within their own local community. However, people’s life philosophies are so implicit that we cannot exatract them easily. They are so tacit that even they themselves find difficulty in verbalizing them. So we have challenged to support people to verbalize, share and discuss their life philosophies deeply from the viewpoint of embodied meta-cognition. This paper shows what kind of communication has been brought about by our activity.
