3D human body model generation from multiple pose deformed depth images

(in English) We propose non-rigid registration algorithm for multiple human body depth images using Microsoft Kinect as a input device. Input images may include pose changes between frames. Generally, human body registration algorithm tends to have high computational costs because the body may have pose changes and it is hard to find the best deformation solution even between only two frames. In our research, we use not only depth images from Kinect but also skeleton information (3D position of user’s body parts) from the device. Skeleton information works as “hint” of deformation, and encourages the optimizer to deform depth images for given “initial pose” (we use erect posture as initial pose). Thus, the difference between depth images is reduced, and the cost of non-rigid registration is also cut down.
