Wireless communication services can be used at various places by development of wireless communication technologies. To make maintenance works be more efficient, telecommunication operator requests for using the wireless communication devices, such as a tablet PC, in machine rooms of telecommunication center and data center where wireless communication devices are not permitted to use. So, it is necessary to evaluate the immunity levels of the telecommunication equipment is enough higher than electromagnetic field strength of transmitting wave from the wireless communication devices to use the devices in the machine room. In the international standard, narrow band signal that is 1 kHz tone 80% amplitude modulation (AM) signal which simulates the radio wave is used as the test signals. On the contrary, wide band signals such as an OFDM signal are currently used for wireless communication devices. In this report, we compared radiated electromagnetic field immunity test results against several types of telecommunications equipment by using the wireless LAN signal and 1 kHz tone 80% AM signal. |
