The Correction System for the 2nd order Distortion in Mixer Utilizing DC Offset Control

(in English) The direct conversion receiver is attractive candidate in order to realize compact and low-cost radio receivers. But it is well known that the direct conversion mixer could produce unwanted 2nd order distortion and degrades the receiver's performance. For example, considering commonly used communication system using ISM band (400MHz/900MHz), emerging new communication such as LTE(Long Term Evolution) can be an interferes that could deteriorate the receiver's sensitivity. Hence it is important to suppress the 2nd order distortion in the direct conversion mixer. In this paper, we propose newly developed correction system for the 2nd order distortion. We fabricated the direct conversion mixer with 0.18um CMOS process and the correction system for the 2nd order distortion. The experimental results shows that proposed mixer and system can suppress the 2nd order distortion.
