Introducing a Narrative Discourse Mechanism based on the Mutual Action between a Narrator and a Narratee into the Integrated Narrative Generation System

(in English) We have been developing the integrated narrative generation system which integrates three generation phases of story, discourse, and expression. A story means the content of a narrative with a conceptual structure, while a discourse means a conceptual structure of how to narrate a story based on the narrator’s strategy on an effect to the narratee. We have implemented a narrative discourse mechanism in which a narrator and a narratee are explicitly positioned as modules based on the reception theory by Jauss. The mechanism iteratively generates a number of discourses from an input story. In this paper, we integrated the discourse mechanism into the integrated narrative generation system. We would like to present the execution process and result to consider the future issues.
