Abstract It has been suggested that resting-state functional brain activity involves the repertoire of task-induced patterns of brain activity. In order to shed light on the physiological significances of the resting-state brain activity, it is necessary to reveal how fine the brain activity reflecting task-induced patterns inherent in resting-state brain activity is organized. To this end, in this study, we examined whether the neural representations for finger flexion and wrist flexion are involved in the resting-state brain activity using neural decoding analysis. As the results, we show that the neural representations inherent in the resting-state activity have finely organized structures as multi-voxel activity patterns, Therefore, it is suggested that resting-state activity may play important roles in sophisticated information processing. |
