Crystal Structure and Electric/Magnetic Properties of BiFe1-xMnxO3 Thin Films Grown on SrTiO3(100) Substrate Using Pulsed Laser Deposition Method

(in English) BiFeO3 (BFO) and BiFe1-xMnxO3 (BFMO) films are deposited by PLD method on SrTiO3(100) substrate. Monoclinic BFO films grow with the tilt along the <110> direction, including four grains. In the case of BFMO, the film grows with tilt at 0.2 degrees from the substrate surface crystallographic plane. The crystal structure is expected to be orthorombic from the results of reciprocal space mapping. In both cases, leakage current is caused by Poole-Frenkel type conduction. The saturation magnetization of the BFMO film is seven times higher than that of bulk at 300K.
