Optical control of microwaves in planar transmission lines on a silicon substrate

(in English) As one of high-power millimeter-wave generation techniques、 we are studying a frequency up-conversion from microwaves using the Doppler effect. Microwaves in a planar transmission line on a semiconductor substrate are reflected at moving boundary of optically excited electron-hole plasma and are converted to millimeter waves. Reflection characteristics of microwaves depending on plasma densities for a coplanar strip line on a high resistivity silicon substrate illuminated by a 532nm Nd:YAG laser beam have been invested theoretically and experimentally. These results are reported.
