This paper presents the effects of antenna receiver diversity for Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) employing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)/offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM) in a multipath fading channel. In the paper, we use the mapping method of the FTN symbol to OFDM/OQAM based orthogonal basis function. By the link-level simulations, we show the effects of antenna receiver diversity for decreasing the required average received signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) which satisfies the target average block error rate (BLER) for FTN associated turbo soft interference canceller (SIC) employing OFDM/OQAM without cyclic prefix (CP). We also compare the BLER performance for FTN with QPSK modulation scheme with that for CP based OFDM employing 16QAM schemes which achieves the almost same frequency efficiencies. |
