Application of Cup-stacked carbon nanotubes for Electric Double Layer Capacitor

(in English) Electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) has advantages of rapid charge-discharge , long cycle life and low environmental load. But application for energy storage devices require higher capacitance. We examined cup-stacked carbon nanotubes (CSCNTs) as electrode for EDLC. CSCNTs have many graphene layers with open edge that is known to have high differential capacitance. In this study, we excuted the shortening of CSCNTs by ball milling, changed the length of CSCNTs, and examined the capacitance. As a result, increase in capacitance per unit volume was confirmed.
