Analysis of the Relationship between Divergent Thinking Ability and Problem Posing

(in English) The final goal is to devise a novel method of learning that a user keeps learning, not by posing problems individually (to herself), but by posing problems to the other users and solving, discussing, and evaluating them with each other freely, and also to develop a SNS-based system to support it. Learning by problem posing is expected to be effective to improve our divergent thinking ability, and has the potential to give us two kinds of effects of building our store of knowledge and improving our divergent thinking ability. This paper analyzes what actions contribute to the improvement of divergent thinking ability in problem posing, to make the system more effective both to build users' store of knowledge and to improve their divergent thinking ability. The analysis leads to a hypothesis that using Free Association, Similarity-based Association, and Forced Association in problem posing is effective to improve our divergent thinking ability. The system is implemented with functions based on these associations. The previous step of developing the system analyzes whether each function is effective in problem posing by using word (noun) similarity, and concludes that some functions could be effective to pose unique problems. Our future work will analyze whether problem posing with the functions is effective to improve our divergent thinking ability.
