In the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) by HE-stained liver pathological specimens, the structure of hepatic cell cord is used in addition to information of nucleus. Especially, a cord-like structure of hepatic cells, called trabecura, has important information in the diagnosis of HCC. Therefore, trabeculae is thought to be extractable by extracting sinusoids and fiber area. Also, fiber areas are useful diagnosis for chronic hepatic diseases.
We have been proposing a method of area segmentation based on Superpixel by extracting fiber probability based on the texture information. In this paper, for enhanced accuracy and robustness, we have developed a method of extracting fiber areas by calculating the feature of each superpixel. We report, as we also studied effective superpixel sizes for extraction of fiber area. |
