Flow QoS Guarantee Method Using Both Back-off Time Control of CSMA/CA and TCP Congestion Control

(in English) In the previous study, in order to guarantee the throughput of a priority flow over wireless LAN environment, a flow QoS guarantee method using both TCP congestion control and MAC priority control has been proposed. This method tries to guarantee a bandwidth mainly by using QoS-TCP and assists the bandwidth guarantee by using QoS-MAC. Here, the method uses TCP-AV as QoS-TCP and ROC (Receive Opportunity Control in MAC Frame) as QoS-MAC. However, because it uses ROC as QoS-MAC, there is a problem that the total throughput decreases by the control overhead of ROC. Therefore, in this study, we try to guarantee the required throughput of priority flow and not to reduce the throughput of other flows unnecessarily. We use the framework of conventional cross-layer control. First, as a new QoS-MAC, we propose a back-off time control that focuses on CWmin (minimum value of Contention Window) of CSMA/CA to improve the total throughput. Then, we propose a flow QoS guarantee method using both new QoS-MAC and TCP-AV. Simulation results show that the proposed method can guarantee the throughput of priority flow. Furthermore, we confirmed that the total throughput of proposed method is higher than that of existing method.
