In this paper, we investigate design of spectrum sensing based on statistics of spectrum usage for spectrum sharing between PU (Primary User) and SU (Secondary User). In a conventional spectrum sensing based on statistics of spectrum usage, average received signal power, average noise power, and transition probability are used as the statistics. In this case, the statistics are estimated, therefore effect of the estimation error has to be considered. In this paper, we assume that the average noise power is available. In addition, we use a following design criteria for the spectrum sensing: minimization of false alarm rate (corresponding to chance of spectrum usage by SU) subject to satisfying target. To satisfy the constraint, we employ a margin. Based on investigation of transition probability estimation error, we reveal that it does not require any margin. On the other hand, we show proper margin for estimation error of average signal power estimation. Numerical results show the validity of the margin. In addition, the our approach can increase chances of spectrum usage by SU compared to a typical spectrum sensing approach where no statical information is not used. |
