We investigated the oxygen permeability and the crystal structure of the SrFeO3-δ(δ= ~0.25)which possesses crystal anisotropy and high amount of oxygen vacancies. The oxygen permeation flux of the SrFeO3-δ showed higher value and lower activation energies than those of a typical mixed conductive perovskite La0.3Sr0.7FeO3-δ. By the x-ray- and the neutron diffraction method, it was found that the oxygen vacancies are created at the particular O sites at higher temperatures. As a result one-dimensinal channeling structure was formed along the b-direction. The results suggest that the oxide ions dominantly migrates along the 1D channeling structure. The migration mechanism is completely different from the case of the typical mixed conductive perovskites. We suppose the characteristic ion migration results in higher oxygen permeability in the oxide. |
