Spin-based integrated electronic devices utilizing both the spin and charge degrees-of-freedom of the electron, commonly-termed spintronic devices, have been progressively explored for advanced nanoelectronics. In particular, spintronic devices exploiting spin current induced magnetization dynamics as operation principles, such as magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM), spin torque nano oscillator (STNO), and ferromagnetic nanowire, are attractive for technological applications as well as mathematical analysis subjects with implementable physical entities. In this report, we propose a systematic and efficient framework for optimal design and control of spintronic devices, termed a dynamical system design approach, in which device dynamics underling operational mechanism of spintronic devices are treated as dynamical systems from a mathematical point of view. As a case study, we have applied our approach to optimal design of several synchronizaton schemes for ensembles of STNOs and demonstrate its availability. We further discuss a possible extendability of our approach to optimal control of spintronic devices. |
