Extension of Maxwell's equations is proposed to realize charge creation and annihilation. The proposed equations includes the charge creation-annihilation scalar field to be almost equivalent to Nakanishi-Lautrup field, which was introduced to construct Lorentz covariant electromagnetic field model for quantum electrodynamics. The necessity of the extension of Maxwell's equations is shown by the comparison of current values given by Maxwell's and the proposed equations in the simple structure consisting of a silicon sphere surrounded by SiO2. The charge conservation is caused by the confinement of charge creation-annihilation centers in the proposed model. Some analyses of electromagnetic field propagation in ultrahigh-speed semiconductor devices based on the proposed equations and FDTD method are reported. |
