| 抄録 | （和） | Three event-related brain potential (ERP) experiments were conducted to examine the processing of role-reversed sentences, wherein a conflict arises between syntactic and semantic information (e.g., the window closes pro). The subjects of role-reversed sentences are semantically plausible as a THEME, while syntactic information signals the subject is an AGENT. Such conflicts may result in additional processing costs. The results of the ERP experiments show that Left Anterior Negativity (LAN) effects on Japanese role-reversed sentences are elicited only when time allocated for verb prediction is increased, suggesting that LAN effects reflect a violation of syntactic expectations rather than integration difficulties that arise due to a mismatch between syntactic and semantic information. |
