An AAN is employed in the conducted disturbance measurements at a telecom port of an EUT. It is requested to show the ratio of the measured common-mode voltage to the common-mode current flowing into the AAN being equal to the common-mode impedance Zcom of 150. However, the present paper shows the following serious issues:
(1) Common-mode voltage measurements using a shunt-type AAN of LCL less than 35 dB yield inaccurate estimates of the common-mode current with errors more than 1.0 dB.
(2) Even if the conventional shunt-type AAN has a very good LCL, such as 55 dB, it may yield erroneous disturbance voltages where the voltage/current ratio widely varies with the common-mode impedance of the EUT and the measurement frequency. |
