Recently, many research efforts have been made for in-home living activity recognition and an optimal home appliance operations. We have studied living activity recognition in smart homes using only position information of a resident and power consumption of home electronics appliances so far. When accurate living activity recognition is realized, we will be able to implement context-aware services such as energy-saving home electronics appliance control and remote monitoring for an elderly person and children in homes. However, currently, we can only output the activity recognition result as texts and/or two-dimensional images. Therefore, it is difficult to intuitively understand living activity of the resident and operational state of the home electronics appliances. In this paper, we propose a 3D-visualization system of living activities of a resident and power consumption of the home electronics appliances in a smart home. This system stores ``the position of the resident,'' ``power consumption of the home electronics appliances,'' ``opening and closing the doors and windows'' and ``results of activity recognition'' in a database, and visualizes them by using 3D model. It can increases user's motivation to save electricity through visualization of power consumption and activities of residents. |
