In this study, we found that when low molecular weight liquid crystals are combined with photo-alignment polymer liquid crystal (LC), direction of LC can be controlled by exposing linearly polarized ultraviolet light. Controllability of alignment direction was depending on the anchoring energy of LC cell. Most high controllability was obtained for the case of weak anchoring energy. |
