A study on existence and bifurcation of intrinsic localized mode in extended or contracted FPU-β chain

(in English) In nonlinear lattices, it is known that there exist a spatially localized and temporary periodic solution, namely intrinsic localized modes (ILMs). In this report, ILMs in one-dimensional FPU chain placed in three-dimensional space are discussed. We first derive an equation of motion of the chain and a dispersion relation. Existence of ILM is numerically shown for both cases that oscillations are parallel or perpendicular to the chain axis. In addition, an ILM rotating around the axis is also shown. For the ILM paralleled to the axis, bifurcation diagrams with respect to the extention and contraction of the FPU chain and the angular frequency of ILM are computed and parameter regions where ILM exists are investigated.
