(in English) In linear regression, we can reduce the weights of irrelevant features by L2 or L1 regularization. However, such a regularization also induces undesirable shrinkage in the weights of relevant features. Motivated by the issue, we propose Bayesian Masking (BM), a new sparse estimation method which introduces binary latent variables to control sparsity by masking the features. The inference algorithm for the latent variables and the weights has been derived from the idea of the factorized information criterion (FIC).
