Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have been developing nursing care equipment, Support system for self-sustainable living, which decreases caregiver burden and try to independent living of the elderly. The support system can lift the person lies face up on the bed, and change the position from supine to standing by turning the entire body. In addition, it can assist walking by moving the leg with McKibben artificial muscle. Then, because the system supports the weight of the elderly, the caregiver doesn’t bear a physical burden except for helping to wear the system. While the elderly walks and moving the body using the system, which disuse syndrome is prevented.
