Traffic Control of Heavy User Utilizing OpenFlow at Access Network

(in English) With a wide spread of smart phones and tablets ,an access network becomes frequently congested when many users concentrate to the same place. Especially, most of the congestions are caused by heavy users. In order to avoid congestion and to provide fairness among users, communication bandwidth of heavy users should be limited. In this paper, we propose the traffic control system for a wireless LAN access network utilizing openflow. the proposed system analyzes network status on real time and then limits the communication bandwidth of heavy users. In order to confirmed the operation of the proposed system, We installed the proposed system in the University Festival. Furthermore in order to evaluate the effective of proposed system, we emulated the traffic that was captured at Nagaoka fireworks. As a result, proposed system is effective in ensuring fairness among users.
