This paper studies an improvement of rescue system for buried victims in Earthquake using iBeacon. The proposed system can rescue the victims when the network infrastructure is down. The smartphone application for victims in the proposed system operates in two mode. One is the communication mode which corresponds to the conventional rescue application in the LIFE LINE system. Another is the beacon mode which operates without any network infrastructure. The victim’s terminal search experiments are carried out for the confirmation of the search algorithm of victims using iBeacon. It is shown that the rescuers can find the victims by using position information from GPS and RSSI of iBeacon in the proposed system. |
