Development of a questionnaire system using Java socket communications

(in English) In recent years, an improvement of teaching methods that utilize IT has been promoted. This paper discusses implementation of a clicker system designed for taking end-of-session questionnaires. The socket function of Java is used to implement net-work connection of the clicker system between client programs and a server program because the system is assumed to be used in a PC classroom. Thus, it could be configured without using a Web server or browser. In addition, the clicker system responses so quickly that the user can perform questionnaires immediately just after the clicker is started. This paper also shows some results of end-of-session questionnaires, and considerations for future work.
