The Gompertz curve and logistic curve models are often used to forecast the ceiling. An accurate model selection method as well as an accurate parameter estimation is required to obtain an accurate estimation of the ceiling. Discretization of a differential equation is simple and often used to select an appropriate continus model by using discrete data. However, easy approximation might yield a wrong model selection. In this paper, we discussed the Gompertz curve model with data that are exact solutions of the logistic curve model. We proved that estimated values of the ceiling are decreasing as data size becomes larger with time. This helps model selection. |
