Algorithm for Detecting Overlapped Communities in Networks
Kiyotaka Mori, Kaneharu Nishino, Hiroshi Tezuka, Mary Inaba (UTokyo) IBISML2016-66
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The Community is defined as the set of nodes which is densely connected internally in complex networks. The existing Extended Modularity which evaluates overlapped community structure uses equal contribution ratio for each belonging communities. The existing algorithm of overlapped community detection are difficult for practical usages. In this paper, we propose CEPTOR, overlapped community detection algorithm using disjoint community detection and border nodes searching. We also propose NIEE-Modularity, internally edges based Extended Modularity to adapt unbalanced contribution ratio. The experiments show that CEPTOR is fast algorithm for most datasets and able to run datasets over million nodes.
